This is an original socket bayonet for the Austrian M1854 “Lorenz” rifle musket, with its distinct four-sided blade and diagonal mortise slot in the socket.

Bayonet attached to the Austrian Lorenz rifle muzzle at the front sight. Measures 22” overall with a 3 1/8” socket. Locking ring moves freely. Two proof marks on one side of the “elbow” and some random numbers stamped on the other side.  Mostly bright surface overall with scattered age spotting.

This bayonet would surely compliment the Austrian Lorenz rifle musket.  [jet] [ph:L]
