The overall length of the sword is approx. 25.00 inches. Blade is in very nice condition. It is double edged and bright with light scattered mottling. There are also several scattered spots of surface rust. Blade is diamond shaped in cross section and has a triangular shaped ricasso. Edges are free of nicks.
Hilt is of cast brass with a ribbed handle and smooth multilayered pommel cap. The brass guard has a quillon on each side with decorative concentric rings. Brass is untouched and has a light patina. Stamped into one side of the guard is what looks to be “8 FG.”
