Offered here is a single .54 caliber cartridge for Starr carbine, a pack of 12 percussion caps, and the original paper wrapper they were packaged in at St. Louis Arsenal.

The cartridge case is of fine linen with thin, blue paper pasted in place to close the end. The blue paper ends were used by the St. Louis Arsenal. The bullet used features one raised band around the base.  This cartridge is one of the ten originally in the complete pack.

The paper percussion cap pack was wrapped with the cartridge.

The tan paper wrapper originally held ten cartridges and the caps. Now filled with a piece of foam and retied with the original string.

The unmarked wrapper, together with the Starr cartridge and pack of caps, makes a perfect display without the expense of buying a full pack.  [jet] [ph:jet/L]
