Revolver is .22 rimfire with a barrel that meas. approx. 3 3/16  inches long. Top of barrel is strongly stamped with “SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD, MASS. PATENTED APRIL 3 .55, JULY 5 .59  DEC. 18. 60.” Leaf front sight is present over muzzle. Bore is clean but pitted. Seven shot cylinder is fluted.

Some blue remains on the frame but the barrel and ejector are brown Bird head shaped rosewood grips are in nice condition. Hammer holds and falls properly at full cock; does not stop at half cock. Indexes well. Serial number is 31785.

Smith & Wesson produced this type revolver between 1868-1881.  [ad]   [ph:L]
