Metal surfaces are gray throughout with moderate scattered spots of oxidation.

The .31 barrel is round and meas. approx. 4.00 inches long. Top of the barrel is faintly marked “BACON MFG CO. NORWICH, CONN.” Small bead front sight present at muzzle. Bore is dark and pitted. Loading lever works properly. Wedge pin is missing.

Weapon has a plain five-shot cylinder that is fluted. All original nipples are present. Cylinder will not index properly and is stiff.

Frame has scroll engraving on both sides. Hammer moves back and forth but the action does not work.

Wood grips are in good condition exhibiting light surface wear.

Serial number “38” is present on loading lever and cylinder.   [ad][ph:m]
