MANHATTAN “NAVY TYPE” POCKET REVOLVER, SERIES II, S/N 14,229

$975.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1099-20

This personal sidearm, in good condition overall, features a 6.5” long, octagonal barrel. It is .36 caliber with a five-shot cylinder. Serial number (14,229) is found on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, back strap, and wedge.

“MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. NEW YORK” is clearly stamped on the top facet of the barrel. Gun metal is pewter-gray overall with scattered light surface pitting. Revolver is mechanically sound and cylinder spins freely at half cock. Cylinder has been over cleaned and none of the rolled scene remains. However, the patent date between the nipple recesses is perfectly visible.

Brass trigger guard and back strap retain most of their silver plating although it is well tarnished.

Grips are varnished, one-piece walnut in good condition. Strong and tight, the grips have minor dings and numerous chips in the varnish.   [jet] [ph:L]
