Excavated coat-sized button with a face that consists of North Carolina state seal. The face retains good detail. The back features a recessed channel with no backmark. Straight shank. The patina is a nice, smooth chocolate brown.

Recovered from Excelsior Field, Gettysburg.

From the collection of Ron Miller, brother of noted Gettysburg relic hunter Ed Miller. Ron was born in Gettysburg and was a teacher by profession. He walked and hunted the surrounding farm fields his entire life in search of relics. He was a member of the Adams County Historical Society and the Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania. [jet] [ph:m]
