CDV is a full standing view of DeWitt Davis. He is wearing a dark colored frock coat, vest, white shirt, cravat and light colored trousers.
The reverse has a photographer’s imprint which reads, “J.D. WELLS, NO.6 MERCHANTS ROW, NORTHAMPTON, MASS.”.
Image is clear and the contrast is good. Surface has some light dirt from age. Image has yellowed with time.
Thomas Roberts worked as a rope maker. He enlisted as a Private on May 17, 1864, at the age of 26. On May 17, 1864 he was mustered into Co. “L”, 3rd MA Heavy Artillery. He deserted on July 7, 1864 at Fort Scott, Virginia. [sh]
