SURGEON’S KIT MARKED “U.S.A. MEDICAL DEPARTMENT” – NO IMPLEMENTS

$950.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 413-66

This is a velvet lined, mahogany wood box for surgeon’s implements. The box measures approximately 17” x 6.5” x 4.5”.

The exterior remains in very good condition. An oval brass escutcheon is on the lid, in the center, and engraved in script, “U.S.A. / Medical Department”. The case also features brass hinges, brass lockplates, and brass reinforcing straps on the corners. A small chip of wood is missing under one of the three hinges. The mix of the rich wood color and brass makes an attractive combination. Both sliding “locks” are operable.

The interior is lined in red velvet. The lid, tray, and bottom feature recessed places for surgical implements. There are no implements remaining. Linings show light wear.

Exterior shows some minor surface wear and light scratches, otherwise the box is solid and in very good shape.

This box is perfect for a medical display.  [jet] [ph:L]
