This non-excavated Federal belt plate is of the regulation 1839 pattern. Constructed in the die-struck and rolled brass method, the brass accoutrement’s face shows a clear “US”. Face shows dings and dents from use and left edge has slight bend. Lead filled back retains 100% of lead fill, also with dings and grime. No maker’s mark. This is the style with “arrow” hooks; all three hooks remain.  [jet] [PH:L]
