Very nice white buff leather carbine sling that was dyed dark to meet the 1851 regulations. The dark dye has held its color. Leather is in very good shape and is still very pliable. Sling is complete with buckle and “bat wing” tip. The metal on both has a matching dark, almost black patina.
Carbine snap hook assembly is also present and has a dark patina throughout with a slight curve to the link of chain that attaches the hook to its roller. Snap hook works fine.
The inside surface of the sling has a maker’s mark that is oval in shape but it is unreadable due to wear.
Leather is in overall excellent condition. Attached to one side is the remains of an old paper label that is no longer readable. [ad]
