VERY FINE CIVIL WAR PERCUSSION CAP POUCH

$265.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 172-5630

This is a Civil War-era percussion cap pouch. The leather shows very little wear. This pattern has the closing tab as a continuation of the outer flap. This latch tab is unbroken. The interior is clean and the inner flap has both “ears” firmly sewn in place. Complete with fleece; no pick. Bottom has brass finial. Both narrow belt loops remain on back and are stitched and riveted in place.  All stitching remains strong and intact.

Outer flap in excellent condition with weak sub-inspector’s oval stamp. Inner flap exhibits some surface cracking and weak maker’s stamp; only “NEWARK / N.J.” visible. There is also a “D” strongly stamped on the back between the belt loops.

A very nice condition Civil War cap pouch.  [jet]    [ph:L]
