This is a Civil War-era percussion cap pouch. The leather shows light, even wear. This pattern has the closing tab as a continuation of the outer flap. This latch tab is unbroken. Oval sub-inspector’s stamp is plainly visible on center of front flap. There is no interior flap and the “ears” are sewn directly to the outer flap; one is loose. No fleece or pick. Bottom has brass finial. Both narrow belt loops remain on back; stitched and riveted in place. Most stitching remains strong and unbroken. Good condition overall.
A very nice Civil War cap pouch. [jet] [ph:L]
