Leather is in good overall condition.
Outer flap has stamped “USN” in an oval. Latch tab is solid but shows some surface finish loss. Tab is held in place by single row of stitching.
There is no inner flap. The interior has had the implement pocket removed and the body of the box has been cut down for ease of access to the post-war cartridges.
One of the side panels of the box shows some crinkling and an open bottom seam from something heavy having been laid on top of the box. Bottom edge has pear shaped brass finial.
Large leather belt loop on back at top is present and solid.
A wood block has been inserted into the box to help keep its shape. [ad] [PH:L]
