This is a black leather holster made to accommodate the Colt, Remington and other revolvers.
The holster “pocket” measures about 12” along its front edge. Holster is made from a single piece of black bridle leather; the flap being an extended part of the body. A hole on the point of the flap closes on a brass finial. Holster has a 1” wide belt loop sewn to the reverse. Retains its leather plug closing the end of the holster. There are no makers’ marks.
In overall very good condition, this holster shows light use. Entire leather body shows light crazing but no loss of the surface finish. This is a good, military-style flap holster that would accommodate a Civil War revolver. [jet] [ph:L]
