Leather scabbard is in very good condition. The black leather body shows only light wear and no weak spots. Moderate cracking on the finish and a few small scuffs. Brass tip is attached with one copper tack; other is missing. Tip has multiple dents with a light patina. Scabbard frog is also of bridle leather and is the early-war, two rivet variety. Frog shows actual use exhibiting a “wrinkled” surface and “pulled” shape from wearing on the waist belt. Some light surface dirt on frog.
A nice, early scabbard. [jet] [ph:L]
