Image shows a balding gray bearded man in a dark suit. View is a vignette bust image of Surgeon M. C. Kellogg.
Image is good with excellent contrast and surface is mostly clean.
Reverse has period pencil ID that reads “SURGEON M. C. KELLOGG.” There is also a modern pencil notation that reads “CONTRACT SURGEON US. FROM MARY WALKER ALBUM-ID IN HER HAND.”
Research shows that Dr. Kellogg was indeed a contract surgeon but little else could be found on his history. [ad]
