Full standing view of Firemen in "uniform". The three are dressed identically and all wear a waist belt with a "1" on buckle. The image is clear with fair contrast and light foxing overall. Photographer's backmark, Olsen, Shreveport, LA. A period ink note on the back identifies all three men: S.C. Wright, Edward Stringer, and John J. Dillon.
S.C. Wright enlisted on April1, 1862 into Company I, 27th Louisiana Infantry. He survived the war and surrendered with Kirby Smith.
Edward Stringer enlisted on May 1, 1861 into Company A, 7th Louisiana Infantry. Present at Bull Run, 2nd Manassas, Middletown, and Winchester. Discharged on November 1, 1862.
John Dillon enlisted on March 22, 1862 into Company K, 27th Louisiana Infantry.
