Three-quarter seated view of a bearded Union officer cradling his Model 1850 Foot Officer’s sword in his lap. He wears a dark frock coat with shoulder-straps that are too far back on the shoulder to see his rank. He also wears matching dark trousers with a thin light leg stripe.
Image is clear with good contrast. Image has light surface dirt. Lower corners are clipped.
Reverse has collector’s information in pencil that reads “ON ALBUM PAGE: KILLED AT BATTLE OF NASHVILLE. DEC. 15, 16 ’64. CONN. LEADING USCT.” Also written on the back in lighter pencil is “CONN.” and a repeat of the information from the album page. It is assumed that this officer was from Connecticut. [ad]
