Seated studio view of well dressed man with whip in his lap. He wears a coat, vest, hat, and trousers with military style stripe down leg. Image is clear with very good contrast. Plain mount with no photographer's backmark. Period ink salutation on back is partially trimmed off. A modern pencil note suggests this could be an overseer. However he could just as easily be a teamster.
Image is from the late William Turner collection. [jet] [ph:L]
