A view of a standing New Hampshire infantryman in uniform. He stands before an American flag back drop. The man is wearing a nine-button frock, with leather accoutrements and brass plate all visible. He has a musket with bayonet propped up on his right side and he holds his forage cap in his left hand. The crown of the cap is well adorned with brass insignia: A company letter “D” on top, infantry horn insignia with regimental number “15” or “16” inside, and “NHV” on the bottom.
Image is clear with good contrast. There are a few small “rubs” on the image and the mount has been trimmed. No b/m. The 15th and 16th New Hampshire regiments were both assigned to the Gulf. [jet][ph:L]
