Plate is sand cast brass with nice dark patina overall and a very nice “C.S.A.” at center.

Reverse has all three brass hooks.

A close examination reveals some lumps and bumps to the casting as well as crudely finished edges.

With the item is modern typed paper label that reads “CONFEDERATE RECTANGULAR ‘CSA’ GENERAL SERVICE BELT PLATE RECOVERED NEAR SPOTTSYLVANIA COURT HOUSE, VIRGINIA AUGUST 1960.”

These very early reproduction CSA plates are well done and may have seen late United Confederate Veteran or early Sons of Confederate Veterans use.  [ad]
