The subject of this image looks to be a middle-aged man seated in front of a painted backdrop of a lake surrounded by hills and trees. He wears a dark frockcoat with a felt collar and light trousers. His coat is open to reveal a dark bowtie, white shirt and a vest that is printed with a floral pattern. Visible in the subject’s lap is a good-sized belt knife.

Clarity and contrast are excellent. There is some light surface discolorations around the edges but nothing too serious or obtrusive.

Image is housed in a very nice union case free of chips and cracks with a raised exterior geometric decoration. A bright clean decorative mat and frame are present.  [ad] [ph:L]
