Image is a three-quarter seated view of an older woman wearing a dark dress and shawl with white undersleeves and a white lace cap seated by a table and resting one hand on a Bible that has a gilt cross on the front.
Clarity and contrast are excellent however there is some discoloration around the edge.
Photo comes with a plain brass mat and decorative stamped brass frame and is housed in a union case with a plain geometric decoration on the outside. Case is in excellent condition.
There is some possibility that the subject may be of African descent.
