Image dates from the 1850’s and shows a young lady and adolescent boy seated side by side. The family resemblance can easily be seen in the eyes. Whether this is a mother and son or sister and brother is anybody’s guess.

The woman is wearing a dark solid colored dress with a tight fit at chest and waist. The dress has a white collar and bowtie. The young boy wears a dark suit with white shirt and wide dark cravat.

Image is very clean and clear with good contrast.

Image has a plain brass mat with a scrolled frame and comes in a thermoplastic Union case decorated with ribbons, chains and flowers. Upper right corner of the case has a small chip while the lower left has a small repair to corner.  [AD]  [ph:L]
