Item Code: 1138-1961
Waist-up view of a young soldier wearing a dark frockcoat with a high collar outlined in thick light-colored tape with a single three-piece button on each. The front of the coat has a single row of buttons running down the front. Folded over the subject’s left arm is a matching dark overcoat.
Contrast and clarity are good but the image has a spotty finish caused by oxidation on the emulsion. There is also a rub mark along the right side.
Image comes with a decorative brass mat and stamped brass frame in a half leather case.
From the collection of the late William A. Turner. [ad][ph:L]
