SIXTH PLATE AMBROTYPE OF A YOUNG WOMAN HOLDING A CASED PHOTOGRAPH

$95.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 2022-2344

This sixth plate ambrotype features a seated young woman in a beautiful dress with a large collar and trim. She wears a necklace, dainty drop earrings as well as two rings and a brooch, which have been gilted.  She holds a Union case in her hands, possibly of a dear loved one.

This image comes housed in a thermoplastic case with mat, glass, and keeper in place. The case is in good condition; hinges intact and no chips or cracks. The black lacquer on the reverse of the image has begun to peel and is pushed up in one place. There also appears to be some air between the image and the glass which has caused some minor discoloration and loss to the image. [cla] [ph:L]
