One half plate of seated middle-aged matron, of forty five or so, seated in stuffed chair stern visage. Her clothing - linen cap, and outer, buttoned shoulder shawl—is indicative of a late 1840s-early ‘50s time frame. Image is spotted, but clear and distinctive. Oxidation appears at round the edges of the interior brass mat. Attractive brass velvet lined, brass frame, in gilt edged leather case, which exhibits wear at the extremities. Hinge broken, else VG. Good period, matronly image.
