Early image, circa 1848, shows a waist up view of an older lady wearing a light colored dress with white collar and cap. She is holding a small book in her hand. Seated next to her is her son who is wearing a frock coat, vest, white shirt and cravat. He is a very large man. Image is very clear with excellent contrast. Some light oxidation has occurred plate.
Image comes housed in half leatherette case with decorative mat. Case shows minor wear. [sl]
