Image shows a young boy approx. 10-12 years old seated on a rock holding a rifle or shotgun. He wears a dark “beehive” shaped slouch hat with dark coat, white shirt, large dark bowtie and white trousers. The type of weapon the boy is holding is not discernable. The lock is facing toward his body and he moved the weapon a bit so the hammer is a blur.
Image has very good clarity and contrast. There are some minor scratches at bottom edge.
Brass mat is plain and has an arch shaped cutout. Mat does have some spots of oxidation.
The back of the image has what looks like modern masking tape holding it to the mat.
Case is complete but broken. The spine has separated from the back panel. Top edge of the back panel is missing. Both hinges are present as are the hook and eye closures. Interior of the case has red felt pillow in good condition. [ad] [ph:jet/L]
