Circa mid-1850s. Image of family grouping—seated grandparent, standing parents, two young girls on each side, w/grandfather holding baby. All well-dressed in the middle-class styles of the time. Image displays a consistent ring discoloration round the margins that in no way affect its solid clarity. Brass matt has minor nicks around the upper and left inner edges. No case. Image also some light spotting. Else VG. An attractive and exceptionally good 1850s family grouping. [jp] [ph:L]
