In this image an unidentified, rather unkempt young soldier is standing with a model 1840 artillery saber. He is dressed in a sack type coat and wearing a kepi. Around his belt is a NCO or cavalry belt with a scabbard and a cap box attached. Tucked in the belt is what appears to be a Smith and Wesson pistol. The image is in a brass mat and half of a case.
