Subject is a young black girl approx. 9 or 10 years old. She is posed seated in a high-backed padded chair holding her hat in her lap. She wears a light-colored cape with a round fibula at her throat over a white dress. Her hat is white with a multi-colored hat cord around the base of the crown.
Contrast and clarity are good. Tin has a layer of oxidation around the edge, Decorative brass mat and stamped brass frame are present.
Leather case is in good condition with a working brass clasp but the hinge is starting to separate. [ad][ph:L]
