Tintype shows a little fellow perhaps 6 or 7 years old wearing dark jacket and light trousers. He is posed standing by a table with two books stacked on it and he is standing in front of a painted backdrop of balustrades with an urn in a bucolic setting.
Contrast and clarity are good. When scanned, there are thin lines around the face area - not visible with the naked eye, and cannot be felt to the touch. Plate has clipped corners and some minor edge wear.
There is no mat, frame or case.
From the collection of the late William A. Turner. [ad][ph:L]
