Item Code: 1139-24

Subject is seated and viewed from the waist up. He wears a dark cavalry shell jacket with gilt buttons and gilt piping on the collar and light trousers. He also wears his saber belt with shoulder support strap and Pattern 1851 plate with the spread-winged eagle and wreath that is also touched with gilt paint. The subject is posed holding his saber at the “SHOULDER ARMS” position. The guard of the saber is also touched with gilt.

Clarity is excellent. Contrast is a bit dark.

Image comes with a plain oval brass mat and stamped brass frame. It is housed in a very nice Union case with a leaf and chain motif. The interior of the case has a loose pillow which can easily be re-glued, but the exterior of the case is excellent.  [ad] [ph:L]
