Ninth-plate three-quarter seated view of a young Union soldier wearing a dark frockcoat with gilt buttons and light trousers. The frockcoat is open to reveal a matching vest beneath that also has buttons touched with gilt. The subject is posed holding a Colt Army revolver.

Clarity is excellent and the contrast is very good.

Image comes housed in a patriotic mat with US flags at the top corners and a riband at bottom with “THE UNION NOW AND FOREVER.” Stamped brass frame is also present. There is no case.  [ad] [ph:m]
