Tintype image shows a young soldier wearing a dark colored, 1883 five-button sack coat with corporal’s chevrons and medal. He is also wearing a tan slouch hat. Image is clear with good contrast. Some oxidation on image has occurred.

Full gutta percha case has decorative brass rings. Each side has a small chip. Screws together to close. Overall measures 1 5/8” in diameter.  [sl] [ph:L]
