This sixth plate tintype shows a seated civilian man, elbow on a table, wearing a hat, holding a large book, and displaying a watchchain the photographer has tinted gold. His cheeks are lightly tinted red. The young man is tight-lipped, but with a smile. His coat and vest are light colored, but we see nothing specifically military about it.
There are no detracting marks to note; no bends or deterioration of the image.
This image is matted, glassed and framed. The case is very good and shows a hanging basket of flowers framed by floral scrolls both front and back. [cla] [ph:L]
