FULL STANDING SIXTH-PLATE TINTYPE OF A YOUNG CONFEDERATE PRIVATE

$765.00 SOLD
Originally $850.00

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 141-166

Looking at this Confederate soldier one gets the impression that he was tall and lanky. He is posed with his arms by his side holding a dark colored slouch hat in his hand. He wears a light-colored shell jacket with an eleven-button front and dark collar. He also wears trousers that are just a shade darker than the jacket. Jacket is open to expose a white shirt beneath.

Image has excellent clarity and contrast. Plate has some shadowing above and around the subject’s head but this is minor.

Photo comes in a half leather case with a bright decorative oval mat and frame but no glass.

The reverse of the image has a brown tax stamp with a cancelation date of August 13, 1865.

Very nice, clean image.  [ad][ph:L]
