Seated photo of officer from waist up. Image is clear with good contrast, but has several small spots of emulsion missing around the head. None actually affect the image however.
Identified as a Marine by way of his uniform: double-breasted frock, with high collar, fringed metal epaulettes, and white leather waist belt. Brass items have been gilted and his cheeks and lips slightly tinted.
Mat, frame, and glass in excellent condition. Hard “Union” case is lined in purple velvet and has geometric pattern and is also in fine condition. [jet] [ph:L]
