This attractive lady gazes out at us from the distance of 160 years. The bust view reveals that she is wearing a patterned dress with a bit of lace along the inner edge of the neck line. Her earrings and the drop of her necklace are gilded.
The thermoplastic figural case is oval, measuring about 2 ½” x 2”, is in very good condition, and shows (front and back) a young girl chasing a butterfly with a net, with a second figure lying at her feet. Lovely scroll design around the perimeter. The narrow, floral embossed brass frame around the tintype plate and glass is in place as is the red facing pad.
Overall both the image and the case are in very nice condition; the latch on the case functions well. [ld] [ph:L]
