Waist-up view of a bearded soldier wearing a jacket made of a heavy looking horizontal striped material that could be corduroy. The jacket has turned down lapels which reveal a white shirt and white bowtie. The jacket also has two slanted breast pockets on each side of the chest. In one hand the subject holds what looks to be a Remington revolver and with the other he brandishes a “D” guard bowie knife with a very long blade.

Contrast is good and the clarity is excellent however the surface of the image has crackled throughout, but this does not obscure any of the image.

Photo is housed in a complete, repaired leather case with decorative brass mat and stamped brass frame.  [ad] [ph:L]
