Item Code: 1000-2227

This item is the sliding breech block from a Sharps carbine or rifle. Attached to the bottom of the block is the lever / trigger guard. This “dug” relic is rusty but retains great detail. Iron is stable with no flaking.

Recovered from central Virginia.  You have to wonder how a soldier could lose this most important piece of his weapon.   [jet]
