Relic condition accoutrement original angular socket bayonet, recovered in Central Virginia. This is a standard US pattern bayonet intended to be used with for the US Model 1816 Flintlock Musket longarm. In time, the M1816 was converted to a percussion musket and the accompanying accoutrements could also be affixed to the newer conversion.
The socket measures 3” and the blade is 16” long. The bayonet has light to moderate surface rust. A good example of M1816 bayonet for anyone collecting relic condition items. [mk] [ph:L]
