Excavated coat-sized button with a face that consists of Virginia state seal; Virtus slaying the tyrant with sword up. This is the one-piece variety with a stamped face and with a shank soldered to the back. Even brown patina on face, some green tone on the back. Slight ground action gives the edge a slightly rough feel. Very good detail remains to image and wording.
Thin wire shank remains soldered in place.
Recovered at Cedar Mountain. [jet] [ph:L]
