Confederate 12-pounder spherical case shot for smoothbore cannons that was professionally cut in half to show its contents.

The cut was made perfectly through the center of fuse and iron side plug. Round, iron case shot embedded in yellow sulphur matrix and central powder chamber display very well.

Exterior iron surface is pitted as to be expected with a “dug” iron relic, but ball was cleaned and coated prior to cutting. Small cut near fuse where band saw must have slipped during cutting. A very good artillery display piece!   [jet]  [ph:m]
