Confederate 12-pounder spherical case shot for smoothbore cannons. This shell has the typical Confederate brass fuse adapter that would have taken a paper time fuse. Lead plug fills the hole in the side where the iron case shot was inserted. Iron surface is pitted as is typical for excavated relics. Nice mold seam.
Recovered from Cold Harbor.
