Excavated Confederate artillery shell. This is a 3” smooth-side Reed shell. Features typical copper fuse adaptor, iron sabot, and lathe “dimple” on base.

Iron body is lightly pitted and remains is good, solid condition. It was coated at some point. Good, dark patina on fuse adaptor.
