A Confederate 12 Pounder 4.52” diameter polygonal cavity spherical shell fragment with a Confederate copper fuse adapter recovered in Atlanta, GA. Used exclusively by the Confederacy, interior cast with lines of weakness in the form of a pentagon, sections that would separate into twelve fragments of equal size. Also found in diamond and trapezoid patterns.  [ws][ph:L]
