Offered here is a very old relic board likely assembled by a veteran from battlefield pick-ups. All relics are wired, screwed, or nailed to a 0.25” plank. A frame is constructed around the edge and is was painted a mustard yellow color.
The piece measures 11.75” x 22” overall.
Thirty-one fired bullets, Federal and Confederate, are attached at the top in four rows. Additional relics are mounded below and include an oval “US” plate, eagle breast plate, buttons, cannister, a shell fragment, a Schenkl fuse, and a bullet in wood.
An old pen and ink label is glued at the bottom. The top line remains visible, “Spotsylvania Ct. Ho.” While the lower line is tough to decipher due to staining.
A fine old relic board worthy of display. [jet] [ph:L]
